The Fields Are Ripe For Harvest

Wednesday, March 18, 2009

In today's passage, Jesus has just finished an important discourse with the "Woman at the well" and He is now sitting down with his disciples in John 4:32, they have suggested to Him that He eat and he says, "I have food to eat that you do not know about." Jesus is like that. He makes statements that make you want to say "what did He say?" They are confused because none of the disciples had brought Him anything to eat yet and He makes that statement.

Then He continues... "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to accomplish His work. Do you not say, There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes, and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest. Already he who reaps is receiving wages, and is gathering fruit for life eternal; that he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. For in this case the saying is true, One sows, and another reaps. I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labor" John 4:43-38.

Is this not the entire message of Jesus Christ? Has He not been preparing His disciples for the great harvest? Look at what is going on in the world today. Such chaos and disarray. So much fear and confusion. And Jesus keeps saying that the "fields are ripe...they are white for harvest." A woman asked others on her facebook page to "join her cause" and her cause was that Mormons are Christians too! Well, I just happened to be on her friend list (I think we graduated from the same High School) and boy that "light the match" for me. I spent two days in dialogue back and forth with her and a few of her friends trying to help them understand the error in their ways and shared the gospel, RIGHT ON FACEBOOK, and now all I can do is pray for them.

But can you see through current day events that the fields are truly "Ripe for harvest?" We need to be out there, sharing the Word of God UNASHAMEDLY, and letting people know what REAL CHRISTIANITY IS. I told her that I was going to start referring to myself as a "Fully Devoted Follower of Christ" because Christianity has been so watered down that everyone thinks they are Christian just because they were born in America or something ridiculous like that. GOOD GRIEF! WHAT TOTAL DECEPTION! However, isn't that what God's Word tells us that the "Last Days" will be like? We need to be out in the field, gathering the harvest, for the fields are truly ripe for harvest! Don't hang your head when you hear God speak to your heart. When that "server" comes to your table, ask him or her if they attend church and if so, where! Be Bold, Be Brave. After all, I think Jesus (The Man) was when He hung on the cross for us.

Let the world know that you are a fully devoted follower of Christ Jesus (if you are) and if you aren't, why not? You want to spend eternity in hell? Sure you don't. So if you aren't "BE" and if you are "GO"! It is what you were called to do. Praise the Lord, the world is turn and we are seeing a great opportunity to share His grace. Just Do It! And naturally, as you can see, the word "BE" above is a link to information that can help you discover your relationship with Christ.
