What Sin?

I remember a few years back, a musical artist by the name of Morgan Cryar performed a song and the title of it was "What Sin?" And I listened intently to the words of the song and its meaning and it quickly became a favorite. Below this paragraph, I have placed the words to the song and if you click on the title of this blog, it will take you to a YouTube video of it. It will be worth four minutes of your time to listen to the song and especially the words.

It happened so long ago. And I cried out for mercy back then. I plead the blood of Jesus, Begged him to forgive my sin. But I still can't forget it, It just won't go away. So I wept again, "Lord wash my sin,"But this is all He'd say,

Chorus: What sin, what sin? Well that's as far away as the east is from the west. What sin, what sin? It was gone the very minute you confessed. Buried in the sea of forgetfulness.

The heaviest thing you'll carry, Is a load of guilt and shame. You were never meant to bear them, So let them go in Jesus name. Our God is slow to anger Quick to forgive our sin, So let Him put them under the blood, Don't bring them up again. Cause He'll just say,

Chorus: What sin, what sin? Well that's as far away as the east is from the west. What sin, what sin? It was gone the very minute you confessed. Buried in the sea of forgetfulness.

Lord, please deliver me from my accusing memory. Nothing makes me weak this way, then when I hear you say,

Chorus: What sin, what sin? Well that's as far away as the east is from the west. What sin, what sin? It was gone the very minute you confessed. Buried in the sea of forgetfulness.

Hebrews 8:12 says, "For I will be merciful to their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more." Also in Hebrews 10:17 it says, "And their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more." Listen to how Isaiah says it in 43:25 "I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake; And I will not remember your sins."
I've spent a lot of years "beating myself" over the head with things in my life that were continuing problems and all along I wasn't hearing Him say to me "What Sin?" Get over it and get on with your life for My sake because I forgot about that a long time ago. Are you beating yourself up? God is saying to you "What Sin?" It's time to get on with what He called you to do and not sit around continually confessing the same sin over and over again. "What Sin?"...God!
