We have all run into certain people who have a nack for making great promises that they are really not capable of fulfilling. And then there are some who are just pathological liars and they'll make all kinds of promises and they didn't even know they made the promise. I mean, it's just a part of man's nature. Of course that doesn't mean that some who will promise you something aren't sincere; they just haven't the capability to fulfill them. We've all met these kind of people and it is amazing how many people and how many times we put our confidence in man and have been let down.
But we know and have confidence in God and His Word. In my short life, I have known many people who were "genuine" in their commitment to me, however, it always seemed that when the "going got tough" they were nowhere to be found.
Take your counsel and guidance from God and you will never be disappointed. The results may not be what you expected, but you can trust that God's direction will lead to a fuller life here and a mansion in glory. Money, education, vocation, relationships. Whatever your need, God is better able to supply than anyone you can know here on earth. Trust God. After all, He gave up His Son for your love.
By the way, did you know that Psalms 118:8 is the very middle verse in the entire Bible? Now you can really impress your friends.
