Last night, Barb and I went to church at the corner of Bell Road and Paradise Lane at a little place called "The Corner Bakery" with some friends. It was a wonderful time. We prayed and eat a meal together and then we spent over 3 hours enjoying each other's company, talking and cutting up and enjoying the Lord in our time of fellowship.
We talked about how the Lord was helping us through some difficult times and even some good times and it was such a time of ministry and healing (even if just for a short while). We captured some Bible verses and facts and chewed on them for a while and just had an altogether great time of fun, food and fellowship.
We remembered in our hearts that the Bible tells us that "For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst" (Matt. 18:20 NASB). And so we honored God as we had communion with each other and the Lord, we had sweet fellowship together and also spent time ministering to one another and I know I said earlier that we went to a church, but truthfully, it was a little cafe that we sat at and worshipped the Father in heaven with these friends. One of the sweetest parts of the conversation was coming together in agreement on our deep, deep desire to see the return of our Lord, Jesus Christ. What a spiritual blessing the whole night was. There was not a church in the city, last night, that would have been able to compete with the fellowship and spiritual uplifting we received.
You see, you don't have to have or build a building and bring in a "Praise Band", add screens for "note taking" in the front and have a Pastor lead in a Biblical Exegetical study to find yourself "in church" and loving it.
You should try it sometime. Just find a few friends and sit down most anywhere and call upon the Lord to, not only sanction your fellowship together but to join in as well. What a blessing the Holy Spirit was as we communed together and I really enjoyed it. And don't be naive. In our 21st Century America, this may become the only church you will be able to achieve and the scripture you study may only be that portion that you have "hidden in your heart."
"For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst." Yes, last night, Friday night, we went to church, and it was one of the best services I have ever attended. Praise the Lord in heaven.
Christian brothers and sisters, (better yet "fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ") I hope this little note inspires you enough to go out and find some "like minded" brothers and sisters to do the same.
Then he said to them, "Go, eat of the fat, drink of the sweet, and send portions to him who has nothing prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not be grieved, for the joy of the LORD is your strength" (Neh. 8:10).
Dave (blessed to the bone).

Thank you for sharing. Church can be wherever we gather. Mathew 18:20.
