Do you know that the soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan sleep with their boots on in the field. I have tried to sleep with my shoes on sometimes and it is one of the most uncomfortable conditions to try to rest in. But on the battle field, it is necessary to be ready at all costs. You may have to run across the hot burning sand in a "firefight" during the battle and you cannot take the time to put on your boots.
Seems to me that this is a good analogy to this passage of scripture found in 1 Thessalonians 5:1-4 that says, "Now as to the times and the epochs, brethren, you have no need of anything to be written to you. For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. While they are saying, Peace and safety! then destruction will come upon them suddenly like birth pangs upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief."
So, figuratively speaking, we should be sleeping with our boots on, especially in these days with the current events of the Global World taking place. People will begin to "preach" Peace and Safety" but be aware that "hell" will soon break loose and you need to be prepared.
I feel the presence of God in our midst and it feels so strongly that I can "almost feel the brush of angel wings on my cheeks!" Do not be caught without your marching boots at God's hour.
