Reconciled To Him

Today's scripture verses are from Colossians 1:21,22 and they say... "And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds, yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach---"

This is a very important passage of scripture and one that we would all do well in memorizing because it, once again, speaks of the "sealing" of our faith in Christ. In Romans 5:10 Paul says... "For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life."

And again in Ephesians 2:1-3 says... "And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest" (read on through verse 7).

And finally 2 Corinthians 5:18,19 says... "NOW all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ, and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation." (emphasis added)

This is the church in its broadest sense. You cannot join this church. The only way to become a member of His body is to be spiritually born and baptized into it by the Holy Spirit. The least and the greatest member is necessary for the proper function of the whole body. Are you reconciled to God. Find a way to get there and then begin your ministry of reconciliation.
