Did you know that there are 31 chapters in the book of Proverbs? This is a good place to do some disciplined Bible reading. You can start reading a chapter a day and by the end of the month you will have read the entire book of Proverbs. Then you can start over the next month. You know it only takes a couple of weeks of doing something to create a habit.
Proverbs 11: 17,18 are precious words of promise to all of us and plenty of wisdom as well. "The merciful man does himself good, But the cruel man does himself harm. The wicked earns deceptive wages, but he who sows righteousness gets a true reward."
Here we can see God's simple explanation of the only two forces that are present in our lives. Those forces are "good & evil." The wisdom of these verses is obvious but the "act" of this wisdom would, of necessity, require a heart for God. Simply put, you are either for God or against God. "Ouch"! That's a tough one. But it is the truth. God has given us a choice to either follow His Son and enjoy eternal life in His glory or go our own way and find ourselves living an unbearable eternity in Hell.
Good/Evil --- God/No God. You can choose to live mercifully and in righteousness or you can live life any way you see fit, helping yourself to all the evils of this world. But remember that this world has been given over to the "prince of the power of the air". In case your not paying attention, that's Satan. This world is not "home" to a true believer in Christ Jesus!
Choose God and live your life in righteousness. You won't like the alternative.
