Eternal Life!

"And this is the promise which He Himself made to us; eternal life". And this is what we all look forward to (eternal life), at least those of us who believe in Christ Jesus.

Just a few verses earlier the Apostle John explains: "Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have arisen; from this we know that it is the last hour." Here is one of the most purifying influences in the church today. John believed that he was in the last days. I believe that God is waiting for us to start living like WE believe we are living in the last days (which I strongly believe, myself).

So getting back to the promise given to us by God Himself "Eternal Life", this is why we strive to serve him. This is why we continue to minister; this is why we help others in need.

Christian or Non-Christian, eternal life is the destiny of every person living and who has ever lived (or course your relationship with Christ determines the location of your eternity). Our hope is in Christ Jesus and considering the condition of the world today, we should all be "looking up" expecting to see Christ return in His glory. Search the Word of God and understand the scriptures and the promise God has made to us.
