Food And Drink For Everyone!

"Do not be anxious then, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'With what shall we clothe ourselves? For all these things the Gentiles eagerly seek; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things" (Matt 6:31,32).

The easiest thing for us to do is to "worry". It takes no money, requires no transportation, nor do we need any one's help. Our biggest adversary knows that we need no assistance to worry so this is the easiest way that he can intrude in our lives. This is why God requires us to live our lives based on His (God's) plan and Him living within us to thwart off these offensive attacks from Satan. "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything with prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God"(Phil. 4:6). The ONLY way for us to reach REAL PEACE is for us to surrender even our minds to His purpose.

Up in verse 27 Jesus says to His followers, "And which of you by being anxious can add a single cubit to his life's span?" Wow! That's a very straight-forward question asked of them by the King of Kings. Well, how many "cubits" or days, hours, minutes, seconds do you feel you have added to your life over your worry or anxiety?

And so this chapter ends on a beautiful and comforting note. In verses 33 & 34 Jesus says, "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious for tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Not only have I heard that before, but I have seen that before.

We need to wrap our minds around the actual biblical fact that we are children of the King and He directs our paths. Check out Psalms 3:5,6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." I don't have to ask you because I know the answer. We do NOT have a better plan than God so why not let Him lead?
