Today I received an email from a relative, one which was sent to a multitude of people asking for forgiveness for anything that this person may have done to any of us. My first thought was that some sins against the family MAY be more severe than others and could possibly require that those people be faced "one on one" in order to express repentance and be able to receive proper forgiveness. To the one who included me in this "Mass-Mailing" email request for forgiveness, I would share the following verses of scripture in Eph.1:
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace which He lavished on us. In all wisdom and insight He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him.
Based on what Paul is saying here, myself, nor any others have the right to forgive less. I would also say that as Paul shares "In wisdom and insight, HE made known to us the mystery of HIS will" that as we mature in Christ, we better understand the giving and receiving of "Forgiveness" and how important it is to make some things a little more personal.
